Jaylin Williams signs first professional contract

Former Razorback Jaylin Williams has made an immediate impact with the Oklahoma City Thunder since being drafted last month. Now, he is being rewarded by signing a rookie contract.

Kevin McPherson of Hogville.net has reported that Williams has recently signed a four-year, $8.2 million contract with Oklahoma City, and is set to receive $4 million in guaranteed money through the first two years of his contract.

McPherson revealed the details of the contract, which says that Williams will receive $2 million guaranteed in each of the 2022-23 and ’23-24 seasons, with non-guaranteed money at $2,019,699 in ’24-25 and $2,187,451 in ’25-26 (team option).

Williams was drafted 34th overall by Oklahoma City in the 2022 NBA Draft, which extended Arkansas’ consecutive years of having a player drafted to four. As a member of the Thunder, Williams competed in four NBA summer league contests, where he averaged 5.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists per game.

Williams and the Oklahoma City Thunder are set to begin the 2022-23 season in October.
