Kings rookie Keegan Murray continues to strengthen his case for NBA Summer League MVP.

The No. 4 pick is averaging 21.5 points in summer league so far, scoring at least 20 points in six of his seven games. The last rookie top-10 pick to average more points in Las Vegas Summer League was Damian Lillard in 2012.

Murray now leads Las Vegas Summer League in total plus-minus, games played, minutes played, and is third in 3-pointers made.

In the Kings’ 82-69 win over the Phoenix Suns on Friday, Murray recorded his first double-double of the summer — all while sitting out the entire fourth quarter.

In all, the 6-foot-8 forward finished with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, including 4-of-8 from deep, and grabbed 10 boards.

He’s been one of the best rookies in Vegas, putting in work on both ends of the floor.

On Wednesday vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, all eyes were on the rookie matchup between Murray (No. 4) against Chet Holmgren (No. 2)..

Holmgren finished with eight points, five rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Meanwhile, Murray had 29 points (9-17 FG), seven rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
