Boston falls to Heat 118-107 in Game 1 of East finals

The Boston Celtics fell to the Miami Heat 118-107 in Game 1 of their 2022 NBA Eastern Conference finals series with the regular season’s top seed after following up a strong first half against the Heat with a flat third quarter they never managed to recover from. Miami star forward Jimmy Butler’s game-high 41 points (and 17 made free throws) were a key part of the loss for Boston Tuesday night.

The Celtics saw solid games from All-Star swingman Jayson Tatum (29 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists), star forward Jaylen Brown (24 points, 10 boards), and big man Robert Williams III (18 points, 9 rebounds). Reserve guard Payton Pritchard chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds off of the bench.

Let’s take a look at some of the better plays of the game captured in images.
