Yet another LSU player who entered the transfer portal following the 2021-22 season and the dismissal of coach Will Wade has found a landing spot.
Forward Bradley Ezewiro, who was a freshman last season from Oak Hill Academy in Torrence, California, is transferring to Georgetown, he told On3’s Joe Tipton on Tuesday. He announced the decision himself later that day via his Twitter account.
Ezewiro is a former three-star recruit who signed with the Tigers in 2019 before reclassifying and ultimately choosing to sit out the 2020-21 season. He will join coach Patrick Ewing and the Hoyas with three remaining seasons of eligibility in 2022-23.
Ezewiro had reportedly narrowed his top three down to three schools on April 22: Oregon State, UAB and Nevada. It seems it took a late push from Georgetown to secure his commitment, but the Hoyas land a promising player via the portal.
The 6-foot-8, 246-pound forward saw minimal action for the Tigers last season, appearing in seven games. In just 28 minutes of play, he totaled 11 points and six rebounds. His loss is one that should be mitigated by one of the several frontcourt additions new coach Matt McMahon has made via the transfer portal this offseason.
