The Boston Celtics finally know their opponent in the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs for certain after the Brooklyn Nets dispatched the Cleveland Cavaliers in the seven – eight game of the play-in tournament.
Big games from point guard Kyrie Irving (34 points, 12 assists), star forward Kevin Durant (25 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists), and forward Bruce Brown (18 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists) won the day despite 34 points and 5 assists from point guard Darius Garland a late surge from the Cavs that saw Cleveland pull within 5 points several times in the game’s waning moments.
The Celtics, who earned the Eastern Conference’s second seed with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on the last game of their 2021-22 regular-season slate of games, will kick off Game 1 of their series with the now- seventh-seeded Nets on Sunday, April 17 at a 3:30 pm ET on ABC.
