Detroit Pistons’ Jerami Grant (left calf strain) out for the rest of the regular season

Detroit Pistons' Jerami Grant exits game vs. Washington Wizards with left calf strain

Jerami Grant will miss the Detroit Pistons’ remaining seven games this season due to a left calf strain, the team announced on Monday.

The injury occurred during the first quarter of Friday’s home loss to the Washington Wizards. Grant exited the game with 4:30 to play in the quarter. It isn’t clear exactly when or how Grant strained his calf.

This season, Grant averaged 19.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in just 47 games played β€” a career-low. A torn ligament in his right thumb and a COVID-19 infection caused him to miss 24 consecutive games from Dec. 12 until Jan. 30, and he also missed two games due to right knee inflammation earlier this month, and a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 25 because of a left elbow infection.
