Hoiberg Lauded for Off Season Move

This week, Nebraska men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg received some good news from the NCAA transfer portal. Sam Griesel, formerly of North Dakota State, will be playing for the Huskers this upcoming season. The senior guard averaged 14.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 3.4 APG on 48.2% shooting in 25 starts for the Bison in the 2021-22 season. Griesel will be returning home for his senior year as he played his high school ball at Lincoln East High School before heading to Fargo for his first three years of college. Multiple media outlets stated that Griesel had offers in the transfer portal from fellow Big Ten programs Northwestern, Penn State, and Ohio State as well as programs like Stanford and Creighton before deciding to go to Nebraska.
