Isaiah Thomas signs second 10-day contract with Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are going to take a longer look at former Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas.

As his initial 10-day contract with the team was set to expire, the Hornets announced they were signing the 33-year-old Thomas to a second 10-day deal after he averaged 9.7 points over three games for the team.

Following the conclusion of a second 10-day deal, Charlotte has to either sign Thomas for the remainder of the season or let him become a free agent.

The Hornets are the third team Thomas has played for this season following stints with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks on 10-day deals, neither of which resulted in second 10-day contract. Over eight games between the three teams this season, Thomas is averaging 9 points per contest.
