FULLERTON, Calif. – Following their performances on the court throughout the season, Lily Wahinekapu has been named Big West Freshman of the Year while Carolyn Gill earned Best Hustle Player.
Wahinekapu is the first Titan to be named Big West Freshman of the Year since Lauren Chow in 2007-2008 and is just the fifth in the history of the program. Wahinekapu led the team in scoring all year, averaging 14.5 points per game which ranked fifth in the conference. She also led the team with 3.7 points per game, ranking fourth in Big West.
Gill earns the Best Hustle Player for the second time in her career after receiving the honor for the 2019-20 season. Gill became the leader in all-time games played in Titans Women’s Basketball history with 132. She also now ranks fourth all-time in total rebounds with 847. Gill was also named to the Big West All-Defensive Team.
