Northern Iowa came out on top in a nail-biter against the Illinois State Redbirds on Tuesday, sneaking past 72-70. Guard AJ Green and forward Noah Carter were among the main playmakers for Northern Iowa as the former had 20 points along with six boards and the latter had 23 points. Carter hadn’t helped his team much against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Sunday, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
