LeBron James open to returning to Cavaliers, says he wants to play season with son Bronny

CLEVELAND – Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James left the door open about a possible return to Cleveland and said he wants to play his final season with his son Bronny.

“The door’s not closed on that,” James told The Athletic on Saturday. “I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing. I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free.”

James also compliment Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman for turning the Cavs into one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. But the Cavs’ salary cap situation makes a James return unlikely but not impossible.

James’ deal with Lakers expires following the 2022-23 season when he’ll be 38 years old. Even though he said last summer he hopes he can finish his career with the Lakers, James made clear he wants to play a season in the NBA with his son, Bronny.
