Warriors star Steph Curry publicly announced who he’ll be rooting for in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday.

“Joe Shiesty, is that his nickname? I’m going with the Bengals,” Curry said on Saturday after the Warriors’ 117-115 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center.

But because it’s Steph Curry, there was a reason behind his pick.

The two-time NBA MVP and three-time champion wants to see the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft go off.

From one competitor to another.

“I like the fact that if they gotta win, I think he has to play out of his mind more so than the other side,” Curry said. “So I like that storyline a lot better.”

Everyone loves a good storyline, and playing “out of his mind” sounds familiar.
