Jonah Mathews is one of the pleasant surprises in the Polish basketball league. The USC Trojans product was able to score 38 points against SLAM STAL OSTRÓW. Mathews arrived in Poland after one impressive year in the Swedish league where he averaged 21.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
Overall, Mathews’s combination of size and skill makes him one of the more intriguing guards in Europe. He sat down with us to talk about his career.
How has Poland been for you so far?
It’s been good, very different from home but that’s apart of growing and playing for Anwil has been a great experience.
How would you describe your transition to Europe?
My first year last year was hard, being away from home for the first time was hard even if I was only there for 2-3 months but this year has been much easier, due to the team, the place I’m playing and things like that.
