Knicks Mitchell Robinson defends Clippers
Mitchell Robinson left Sunday afternoon’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers with an apparent ankle injury and didn’t return.
The injury occurred early in the third quarter when the 23-year-old appeared to step on Luke Kennard‘s foot. Robinson was visibly hurt and hobbled to the locker room.
The Knicks announced before the start of the final quarter that Robinson would not return to the game with what they call a left ankle sprain.
The injury comes the same day that Nerlens Noel, the Knicks’ second unit center returned from his own injury.
Robinson was having the best stretch of the season, being more energetic on the boards and more involved in the offense. Before he left Sunday’s game, he had eight points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Hopefully for New York, taking Robinson out of the game is precautionary as the team travels to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers on Monday.
