Former exec Bobby Marks breaks down Brooklyn Nets’ financial situation

ESPN analyst Bobby Marks, who served as an assistant general manager for the Brooklyn Nets during his decades-long tenure with the organization, broke down the cap issues facing the Nets this offseason.

The Nets had the second most expensive roster in the league for the 2021-22 season, and the bill for Joe Tsai could skyrocket if Brooklyn were to bring back the same team – but that’s highly unlikely given the amount of players set to become free agents.

One thing that now seems certain is that Kyrie Irving will be back with the team for 2022-23. Irving has a player option for next season, but said following the team’s first-round exit that he doesn’t plan on going anywhere.
