Vicky Bullett

Bullett played at the University of Maryland from 1985-89 under Hall of Famer Chris Weller. The 6-foot-3 forward led the Terrapins to three ACC titles and one Final Four appearance. She was named All-ACC three times (1987-89), as well as ACC Player of the Year and All-American in 1989. Maryland retired her No. 23 jersey.

From 1990-97, Bullett played professional basketball in Italy, where she was named a four-time All-Star in the Italian League. She also played for several years in Brazil, winning a Brazilian league title in 1998.
In 1997, Bullett joined the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA, leading them to the playoffs for three consecutive years. In 2000, she was traded to the Washington Mystics. She retired from the WNBA in 2002 but continued to play overseas through 2007.
During her time with the Mystics, Bullett returned to the University of Maryland to earn a graduate degree in social work. She taught for the Board of Education in West Virginia but later went into coaching. Bullett started in 2009 as an assistant with the Mystics and then as their manager of basketball operations.
Bullett then coached at Hagerstown Community College in Maryland and became head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan. She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011 and the DC Sports Hall of Fame this summer. The street where she grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia, was renamed “Vicky Bullett Street” in her honor.
