Terps Set To Host Marquette In 2024-25

COLLEGE PARK, MD – As the 2024-25 Maryland men’s basketball schedule continues to take shape, the Terps have announced today a home-and-home series with Marquette. The Golden Eagles will visit the XFINITY Center on Nov. 15, 2024, while the Terps will make the trip to Milwaukee during the 2025-26 season.

This will be just the second time the two programs have met. Maryland won the first-ever meeting 84-63 to claim the 2019 Orlando Championship title on Dec. 1, 2019.

Marquette finished the 2024-25 campaign ranked No. 11 in the final Associated Press poll and were 13th in the NCAA NET. The Golden Eagles reached the NCAA Sweet 16 before falling to N.C. State.

The game could be an early season Top 25 match-up with both squads in several offseason ‘too-early’ polls by various media outlets.

The other previously announced non-conference game for Maryland this season was the Saatva Empire Classic match-up against Villanova at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Nov. 24, 2024.

In Big Ten action, Maryland will play home-and-home series with Nebraska, Northwestern, and Ohio State. The Terps will also face Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Big Ten newcomers UCLA and USC at home only. The road slate for league play will include Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Penn State, Purdue and conference newcomers Oregon and Washington.

The Terps’ returning players are highlighted by rising senior Julian Reese, rising sophomore DeShawn Harris-Smith, and fifth-year senior Jordan Geronimo. Maryland has one of the top incoming transfer classes in the Big Ten: Ja’Kobi Gillespie (Belmont), Selton Miguel (South Florida), Rodney Rice (Virginia Tech) and Tafara Gapare (Georgia Tech). Additionally, the Terps signed five-star McDonald’s All-American Derik Queen (Baltimore) and four-star guard Malachi Palmer (Harrisburg, Pa.).

Season tickets for the 2024-25 season are now on sale starting at $199. Maryland Young Alumni (those who graduated within the last five years) receive a 48 percent discount on season tickets, while current Maryland Parents who have a student enrolled for the year are eligible for a 20 percent discount on two season tickets.
