Michigan State basketball fans have been pleading to have Tom Izzo utilize the transfer portal now in this modern age of college basketball, and unarguably, he did that this offseason, first adding elite wing transfer Frankie Fidlar out of Omaha. Then, on Tuesday, adding Longwood center Szymon Zapala.
Izzo finally acquiesced to the demands of the fans, kindly pushed two Spartans out the door (Mady SIssoko and A.J. Hoggard) to add two new transfers at positions of need. So, you’d think MSU fans would be content at this point, right? While that is the case in some pockets, a lot of fans are perturbed that Zapala wasn’t the elite starting center they hoped Izzo would go after.
That is not the universal opinion, however, as some think that Izzo was happy to give Jaxon Kohler and Carson Cooper a larger role. Below, we aggregated some of the differing opinions coming out of social media for your entertainment.
