Social media reacts to Tennessee-Purdue basketball game in Elite Eight

No. 1 seed Purdue (3-4) defeated No. 2 seed Tennessee (27-9), 72-66, on Sunday in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

The contest took place at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Purdue advances to the Final Four for the first time since 1980, while Tennessee is eliminated from the NCAA Tournament. Final Four games will be contested April 6-8 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Purdue led the Vols, 36-34, at halftime.

Zach Edey led the Boilermakers with 40 points. He also recorded 16 rebounds and one assist.

Dalton Knecht led the Vols in scoring with 37 points. Zakai Zeigler totaled nine points, eight assists and four rebounds for Tennessee.
