It’s becoming Groundhog Day for Michigan State basketball.

The Spartans once again came up on the short end — this time in a road matchup at Nebraska, 77-70. Michigan State dropped both of their opening conference matchups this week.

Michigan State held a narrow three-point lead at halftime, 34-31. Both teams shot the ball well from outside, which led to the exciting opening frame.

Nebraska jumped out to a fast start in the second half and led most of the way. Michigan State rallied to take a three-point lead entering the final TV timeout but was unable to hold on for the road victory.

With yet another loss, Michigan State drops to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play. Michigan State will be off for nearly a full week before returning to the court in a big-time non-conference matchup against Baylor. That game will be held at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
