MVP Joel Embiid named to All-NBA First Team after dominant season

The awards continue to roll in for Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. After being named MVP of the league for the first time in his career, the big fella has now rightfully been named to the top All-NBA Team for the 2022-23 season.

The NBA announced their three All-NBA squads for the season and Embiid made the First Team alongside Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, and Shai Gilegous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Embiid finished the season with averages of 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.7 blocks. He was dominant on both ends of the floor and he scored 50-plus points in a game four times. He is absolutely deserving of this award.

While Embiid was a shoo-in for the First Team, some thought that maybe James Harden had a shot at making at least the Third Team. After all, he did lead the league in assists at 10.7 and he had one of the more efficient seasons of his career. However, he was left off all three teams.
