Osborne Makes Reginal Finalist List for 2023 WBCA Coaches All-America


LOS ANGELES – Senior Charisma Osborne has been named a finalist in region five for the 2023 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches’ All-America team, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
 
The 2023 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches’ All-America team will be announced in late March.
 
CHARISMA’S SENIOR CAMPAIGN
 
Charisma Osborne has continued to shine during her true senior season with the Bruins.

• Osborne has scored 20+ points in eight of her 35 starts this year (36 PTS vs. No. 5 Oklahoma; 23 PTS vs. Arizona State, Feb. 3; 24 PTS at No. 1/1 South Carolina, Nov. 29; 20 PTS vs. Jackson State, Nov. 25; 23 PTS vs. No. 11/12 Tennessee, Nov. 20; 28 PTS vs. South Dakota State, Nov. 19; 29 PTS. vs Troy, Nov. 13; 20 PTS vs. Cal Poly, Nov. 7).

• The 5-foot-9 shooting guard reached double-digit scoring in 30 contests this season. She had consecutive double-doubles (29 PTS, 10 REB vs. Troy, Nov. 13; 12 PTS, career-high 13 REB vs. UC Riverside, Nov. 10), claimed her third double-double against the rival USC Trojans on Dec. 15 (14 PTS, 13 REB). The senior claimed her fourth double-double vs. Oregon State on Feb. 10 (12 PTS, 10 REB), fifth at Cal (Feb. 17) with the same stat line, and sixth in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (Mar. 18 – 11 PTS, 12 REB).

• The senior leads the team in MIN (1,157), PTS (557), FGM (195), DREB (146) and STL (51).

• Osborne was named Pac-12 Player of the Week twice (Nov. 21 and Dec. 5) after helping lift the Bruins to victory in the first two rounds of the Battle 4 Atlantis, and again after a 1-1 week against No. 1 South Carolina and UCSB.

Charisma Osborne has scored 557 points (2nd – Pac-12) in 35 games, averaging 15.9 ppg (5th – Pac-12). She is 3rd in the Pac-12 in field goals made (195 FGM) on the most field goal attempts (502 FGA) in the Pac-12. Osborne ranks 1st the Pac-12 in minutes played (1,157 MIN), 6th in FT% (83.2%), and 6th in FTM (114). The senior has 1,784 career points, most recently passing Anita Ortega (1,751 PTS) and Monique Billings (1,761 PTS) for 10th on UCLA’s all-time scoring list.
