NC State among teams interested in Dontrez Styles

NC State among teams interested in Dontrez Styles

Through one week, the UNC basketball program has had three players enter the transfer portal as the roster turnover has begun for next season. Among the three in the portal is forward Dontrez Styles, a former four-star recruit out of the state of North Carolina who played just two seasons at UNC.

And already, Styles is gaining a lot of interest from programs including one that UNC would prefer him not to go to.

Jamie Shaw of On3 is reporting that NC State is among the programs that have reached out to Styles already. Joining the Wolfpack are West Virginia, LSU, Providence, Charlotte, Towson, Richmond, Florida Atlantic, and East Carolina among others.

It’s no surprise that Styles is drawing a lot of interest as he was a former Top 75 recruit and a four-star player. The hope was that Styles would develop into a starting forward for the Tar Heels but he had limited playing time in his first two seasons.

Styles was a target of the Wolfpack during his recruitment so it’s not shocking to see them interested once again.
