Jalen McDaniels to miss 2nd straight game for Sixers vs. Hornets

Jalen McDaniels to miss 2nd straight game for Sixers vs. Hornets

As the Philadelphia 76ers continue their road trip on Friday when they take on the Charlotte Hornets, they will have to do so while being short-handed again.

One of their main key bench pieces, Jalen McDaniels, is dealing with a right hip contusion. He suffered the injury in Sunday’s home win over the Washington Wizards and he missed Wednesday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Sixers missed McDaniels’ defensive presence out on the perimeter for their bench unit.

Per Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, McDaniels will miss Friday’s contest with the Hornets. This would have marked his return to Charlotte where he played for the first 3.5 seasons of his career before being sent to the Sixers at the Feb. 9 deadline.

With the Sixers having another game on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers, one has to figure that McDaniels will miss that matchup as well. Of course, time will tell, but if he can’t go on Friday, it would be a bit of a surprise if he did play on Saturday.

Tipoff with the Hornets is set for 7 p.m. EDT from the Spectrum Center.
