North Carolina Tar Heel Armando Bacot has earned another honor, being named to the third-team All-America.
The honor comes from the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) as they released their annual All-America teams. Bacot is the only Tar Heel and Atlantic Coast Conference player to make one of the teams.
The third team joining Bacot is Detroit Mercysโ Antoine Davis, Iowasโ Kris Murray, Kansas Statesโ Markquis Nowell, and Penn Statesโ Jalen Pickett.
The season might not have ended the way Bacot had hoped for. However, his impact was felt, which has resulted in a boatload of honors since the final whistle rang. He also was named to All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and All-America third-team by AP.
Bacot had a remarkable year breaking Tyler Hansbroughโs record and surpassing Michael Jordan on UNCโs all-time scoring list. Bacot dominance on the court was felt as he averaged 15.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and one block per game.
No one knows if Bacot will be back, but with his impact on and off the court, it would be nice to see him back for the Tar Heels.
