Series History

The Raiders and Spartans are preparing to play the 26th game between each other on Wednesday with the Red & White holding the slim 13-12 margin for the all-time series lead. Unfortunately, the MSOE lead has recently shrunk thanks to the last five games going Aurora’s way. The Raiders are 4-6 in their last ten meetings against them and lost their most recent contest in February of last year 74-61 on the road.

Scouting the Spartans: T-2nd Place (16-3, 10-2 NACC)

Aurora has been red hot since the beginning of December having only dropped two contests compared to 11 wins during that span. It comes as no surprise then that Aurora is the most dangerous offensive team in the conference. Their 77.2 points per game is ten more than the next closest team and they own a +13.6 points margin. The Spartans are a threat from downtown as well with 164 made on the season.

That win total includes a 92-50 thumping they put on Alverno this past Monday in a game that was rescheduled due to Saturday’s snowstorm. Macy Kocen lit up the scoreboard with 31 points while teammates Gabrielle Wolff and Kamryn Bullock also scored in double figures in a contest where the Spartans connected on 16 attempts from behind the arc.

Raiders Report: T-10th Place (4-15, 3-9 NACC)

After taking down Rockford 48-32 on the road back on January 21st, MSOE will go into Wednesday’s contest on a two game losing streak. The Raiders tried their best last time out to comeback from a low scoring third quarter on Saturday against the Eagles, but still fell to Edgewood 67-58. Mahima Chokshi continued to raise her season points per game total (9.2) with 15 while Chloe Kurkjian brought down a season high 14 rebounds.

The Raiders defense will need to do their best to slow down the Spartans attack game while at the same time using their own tempo on the offensive end to limit Aurora’s overall total chances. The Red & White still own the third best points against total in the NACC (59.4) but are ranked ninth in points margin (-10.5) due to the ups and downs their offense has experienced.
