Pac-12 men’s basketball power rankings entering February

February is nearly here, and Pac-12 men’s basketball remains unpredictable.

The women’s side has as many as eight teams likely headed for the Big Dance — including Colorado — but the men aren’t anywhere close to that number.

UCLA and Arizona are the only ranked teams with both of them sitting in the top 20. USC, Utah and Arizona State are close to becoming ranked, and the next few weeks will make a massive difference for those teams fighting for an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament.

Here is the latest edition of our Pac-12 men’s basketball power rankings as we enter the month of February:

Cal has three wins all year long. They aren’t very good, and one of those wins came against Colorado.

The Cardinal lost five straight to end December and begin January. Since then, they have won four in a row, but they face Utah, Colorado and Arizona State next.

There isn’t a clear-cut way to rank these last three teams, but the Beavers topped Colorado and Cal over the last couple of weeks.

The Buffs began the year with some impressive wins, including victories over Tennessee and Texas A&M. They have now dropped five of their last six games, with the victory being a three-point home win against Washington State. They can make up ground with wins against California and Stanford this week.
