KenPom rankings following loss at Kansas State

NET rankings following loss at Kansas State

The fifth-ranked Kansas State Wildcats tripped up the Florida Gators on Saturday evening in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, which was played inside Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas, and saw the home team prevail by a comfortable 64-50 margin. The game was not nearly as close as the bookmakers believed it would be in large part due to yet another slow start from the visitors.

Following the defeat, the Pomeroy College Basketball Rankings, also known as KenPom, dropped the Orange and Blue five spots, falling from No. 43 to No. 48 on Sunday. It also ranks Florida’s adjusted offense at a paltry No. 147 in the nation while the adjusted defense lands at an impressive No. 8.

The Gators are now 12-9 overall with a 5-3 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

Next up for Florida is a visit from the fourth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers, who currently sit atop the KenPom rankings at No. 1, on Wednesday, Feb. 1, inside the O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST and the game can be followed either on ESPN2 or the Gators IMG Sports Network.
