Kyrie Irving is looking to remain in Brooklyn after this season.

According to Irving’s agent, Shetellia Riley Irving, the All-Star guard is looking to remain with the Nets but talks have yet to happen.

“Around Kyrie and staying with the Nets? I have reached out to the Nets regarding this,” Shetellia Irving told Bleacher Report on Wednesday. “We have had no significant conversations to date. The desire is to make Brooklyn home, with the right type of extension, which means the ball is in the Nets’ court to communicate now if their desire is the same.”

Irving is playing out the final year of his deal with the Nets, and is an unrestricted free agent when the 2022-23 season ends.

The 30-year-old is eligible for the max extension, which will be four years and around $200 million.

Entering Wednesday, Irving is averaging 26.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists this season. Since Kevin Durant went down with an injury, Irving has been the Nets’ best player and has helped Brooklyn get out of their funk with back-to-back massive scoring outputs.

Irving scored 48 points against the Utah Jazz on Jan. 20 and 38 to lead the Nets to a 120-116 comeback-win over the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 22.

Prior to the end of last season, Irving and the Nets could not come to an agreement on a contract extension. The Nets allowed Irving to pursue a trade with other teams, but in August both sides decided that running it back with Durant for at least one more season was the best course of action for the organization.
