Tuesday’s win over Syracuse wasn’t an easy one for North Carolina, as has been the case all year for the Tar Heels on the road. Entering this game, UNC had just one true road win all season long, that coming at Louisville.
But they left New York with their second road win of the year and it was a tough one.
After Joe Girard hit a three-pointer to give Syracuse a 68-66 lead with over a minute left, Pete Nance came up big by hitting a layup off a missed free throw to give the Tar Heels a 69-68 lead. They sealed it with a strong defensive play by R.J. Davis and then a few free throws by Caleb Love.
The Tar Heels are now 15-6 on the year and 7-3 in ACC play as they head into a week off before facing Pitt and then Duke next week.
Before we look too far ahead, let’s check out some of the best photos from the game.
