Nets superstar Kevin Durant is ‘progressing well’ in right MCL rehab

Nets’ Kyrie Irving discusses key to beating the Warriors on Sunday

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant was re-evaluated on Monday and he is progressing well in his recovery, according to the Nets. Durant’s evaluation was done by Dr. Riley Williams III at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Williams is pleased with Durant’s recovery thus far and he is progressing as expected. Durant will continue to build up strength in his right knee and will begin running and on-court basketball activities this week. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks from now.

Durant has missed six games so far with his right knee injury that he suffered on Jan. 8 against the Miami Heat and Brooklyn has gone 2-4 in that time span. The Nets have had impressive wins over the Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors as guard Kyrie Irving and center Nic Claxton have stepped up in the meantime. With the All-Star break looming, it’s possible that Durant could miss more than the two weeks for his next evaluation.
