CAMDEN, N.J. β The Philadelphia 76ers got back to work at practice on Tuesday following a 5-0 road trip. They showed significant resilience to win those games.
The last win of the trip was a 21-point comeback thriller over the Sacramento Kings. The Sixers were short-handed for that game. They played without both James Harden and Joel Embiid as Philadelphia wants to manage their injuries.
Embiid missed the win over the Kings due to left foot soreness. It is an injury that held him out for three games earlier in the year. With Philadelphia back at practice, coach Doc Rivers revealed he was not able to practice.
βHeβs here, but he didnβt go,β he said. βWe did a lot of skeleton work, walkthrough stuff.β
As far as his status for Wednesdayβs matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, Rivers isnβt sure.
βI donβt know,β he stated. βHeβs day-to-day. Weβll see how he progresses.β
Considering this is the same injury Embiid had earlier in the year, one might assume there would be some concern. Rivers isnβt worried at the moment.
βItβs the same thing and we just want to make sure itβs right,β Rivers added. βIf itβs right, he plays. If itβs not, weβll wait another game and see where heβs at.β

Embiid is obviously the engine that drives this machine in Philadelphia. They will need the big fella at his best so this is a situation worth monitoring.
