GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech senior center Elizabeth Kitley has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Georgia Tech guard Tonie Morgan earned Rookie of the Week honors. Kitley was named for the second time this season, while Morgan earns her first weekly award.
 
ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
 
Kitley averaged 20.5 points and 12.5 rebounds and finished 18-for-24 (75.0 percent) from the field, as she led the Hokies to a pair of conference wins last week. The Summerfield, North Carolina, native posted a pair of double-doubles to raise her ACC-leading total to 12. On Thursday, she tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds in a road win at Pitt. On Sunday, she scored a game-high 28 points with 12 boards and a pair of steals to lead Virginia Tech to a 74-57 victory over Wake Forest.
 
Morgan averaged 15.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in Georgia Tech’s two ACC matchups last week. In the Yellow Jackets’ win over Syracuse on Thursday, the Tallahassee, Florida, native scored 16 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, as she became the first Georgia Tech freshman to pull down 15 boards since 2019. On Sunday at North Carolina, she totaled team-highs with 16 points and eight rebounds.
