Washington Completes Sweep of Colorado with 75-72 Road Win

BOULDER, Colo. – A 54 percent shooting night paced Washington (12-8, 4-5 Pac-12) to a 75-72 win over Colorado on Thursday night and a season sweep of the Buffaloes.
 
“We were really ready to play,” said Head Coach Mike Hopkins. “We were really locked in on what we had to do and I felt like we executed it. We got the ball where we needed to get it.”

Keion Brooks Jr. scored 25 points, making nine of his 12 field goal attempts and all four free throws to lead all scorers. It was the senior’s second-straight game of 25+ points.

 

The Huskies built a seven-point halftime lead and led by 13 with 13 minutes left in the second half.

 

Colorado, which never led after taking a 4-2 lead, cut the deficit to three with under two minutes to play and pulled the score to 73-72 with 42 seconds left. The Huskies forced a turnover in the closing seconds to seal the victory.

 

Braxton Meah finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds (career-high) for his first career double-double. Keyon Menifield reach double figures with 10 points, eight of which came in the first half.
