CORVALLIS, Ore. – It was all Huskies in Corvallis as Washington women’s basketball (10-6, 2-4) took down Oregon State (10-8, 2-5) 79-67 on Sunday afternoon.
In a complete team effort, every Husky who played, scored, with UW shooting 56% on the game and 54% from three. Washington out-rebounded Oregon State 31-20 in the decisive win.
“So proud of the heart and toughness these young women showed today,” head coach Tina Langley said. “It was such a joy to see them celebrate! I love how we continue to improve our understanding and execution on both ends of the floor.”
UW led after every quarter, playing with all heart and hyping each other up the whole game. The last time the Huskies took down the Beavers in Corvallis was in the 2012-2013 season.
Washington led by 20 at halftime, shooting 66% from the field, and 64% from three. Emma Grothaus ended the half with a bang, hitting a three-pointer at the buzzer.
Three Huskies scored in double digits – Lauren Schwartz and Hannah Stines led the team with 17 points, and Dalayah Daniels added 14. Schwartz and Daniels have now scored in double digits in five of the last six games.
Schwartz surpassed 1,000 career points off a three-pointer in the first quarter. She also led the team with six rebounds.
