Florida basketball hits the road to take on the LSU Tigers on Tuesday night in a battle of two teams that have gotten off to slow starts in Southeastern Conference play. Both squads enter the game with 1-2 records, with the Tigers earning a victory over a top-10 Arkansas Razorbacks team to open the SEC schedule while the Gators beat the Georgia Bulldogs their last time out.
The Orange and Blue currently hold an 8-7 record, sitting at No. 69 in the NET rankings and No. 42 in the Basketball Power Index. Meanwhile, despite a tidy 12-3 mark thanks to a soft pre-conference slate, LSU is ranked No. 89 and No. 72, respectively.
The two programs have met on the parquet over a hundred times and LSU holds the upper hand with a 66-49 record overall dating back to 1947, when the Tigers came away victoriously from a neutral ground matchup. The bayou boys hold a series-high 12-game winning streak from 1979 to 1983 while the rowdy reptiles maxed out at six from 2010 to 2014.

If this were a home game, I would probably give the Gators the edge, but playing in a hostile environment while still struggling to establish an identity as a team β plus the inability to close out games that have been seen several times β I think the ball rolls in LSUβs favor.
LSU 65, Florida 61
