Women’s Basketball: Starks Named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week


 ST. PAUL, Minn. – Macalester College sophomore guard/forward Peyton Starks (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School) was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference today.

Peyton led the Scots to two MIAC victories last week. On January 4, Starks registered 25 points, a block, a steal, and an assist, to defeat St. Olaf, 57-51. Then on January 7, Starks scored a career high 30 points, and recorded 10 rebounds for a double-double in the 80-58 victory over St. Scholastica. Starks averaged 27.5 points for the week.

In the MIAC Starks ranks first in scoring, with 211 points so far this season, averaging 19.2 points per game. She also has the highest field goal percentage in the conference with .535.

Macalester’s next game will be Wednesday January 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Scots host Hamline.
