Arkansas basketball falls on the road to Auburn

Arkansas basketball has had an issue at the free throw line almost all season, but it was one of the most glaring issues in their 72-59 road loss to Auburn on Saturday night.

“It’s crazy,” said freshman guard Anthony Black after the game. “We missed 13 free throws and lost by 13.”

The Razorbacks were 19-32 (59%) from the line on the night, but that number is much worse if you take away Black’s 13-16 contribution. Everyone not named Anthony Black went a combined 6-16 (38%) from the charity stripe.

“Obviously it’s really frustrating. We can’t miss that many foul shots,” Eric Musselman said. “The only thing I know is you’ve got to get in the gym on your own. That’s something that’s been part of our culture – guys working relentlessly on their game outside of practice. That’s got to improve for sure.”

Arkansas will have a few days to regroup and get some extra work in before welcoming a very good Alabama team to town on Wednesday night.
