Washington Arrives at Arizona State Ahead of Sunday Matchup

TEMPE, Ariz. – Washington (9-7, 1-4) visits Arizona State at Desert Financial Arena for a Sunday tilt set for 2 p.m. Pacific Time. Dave Flemming and Corey Williams have the call ESPN and Tony Castricone and Jason Hamilton will call the action on the Husky Sports Network, and locally on Sports Radio KJR-AM 950.
 
The Matchup
This is the 90th matchup between the Huskies and Sun Devils. The teams have split the previous four meetings, three of which have been played in Tempe. The Huskies last road win came in 2020. This is the fifth time in seven meetings the game has been played at Arizona State. Since 2003, UW is 26-10 against the Sun Devils.
 
Last Time Out
Washington started strong and led for 28 minutes but could not connect on a tying bucket on the last possession which gave No. 5 Arizona a 70-67 win Thursday night. The Huskies were up 14 early in the first half as PJ Fuller started the game 3-for-3 from three-point range. It was the first time this season UW lost after leading at halftime. It was just the second time all season the Wildcats, who averaged over 88 points per game, were held to under 75 points. Keion Brooks Jr. and Cole Bajema each scored 16 points. Game Recap
 
Signing Day
Four-star recruit Wesley Yates III (Beaumont, Texas/Beaumont United) signed a National Letter of Intent on Nov. 16, announcing his commitment to Washington. Yates is the 37th-ranked prospect on ESPN’s Top-100. The signing continues the momentum built from last year’s class, which includes the No. 1 rated player in the state of Washington, Tyler Linhardt (Seattle, Wash./King’s HS) and guard Keyon Menifield Jr. (Mount Morris, Mich./Phoenix [Ariz.] Prep).
