Sixers to sign guard Louis King to two-way contract

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly signing guard Louis King of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to a two-way contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

King, who went undrafted in 2019, is averaging 20.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 18 games with the Vipers. He has scored in double figures in every game this season and produced his best game on Nov. 21 with 30 points and five rebounds.

The Sixers will reportedly waive two-way guard Saben Lee to make room for King, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The team still has Julian Champagnie signed to its other two-way contract.

King appeared in 10 games with the Detroit Pistons during the 2019-20 season and 16 games over the past two seasons with the Sacramento Kings. He has career averages of 4.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 26 total games.

The addition of King will give the Sixers another guard capable of scoring when needed. King will still spend the majority of the season in the G League with Delaware but can provide the Sixers with more depth in the backcourt.
