Nets’ Ben Simmons reacts to nail-biting win against the Raptors

Kyrie Irving says game-winner vs. Raptors is ‘what you dream about’

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons has played and seen his share of great basketball over his young career thus far. What the Nets did on Friday against the Toronto Raptors is something that will stick with Simmons for the rest of this season.

Brooklyn was down 18 points at one point in this game and it took everything within the team to make that slow, but steady comeback. Most teams, especially in the regular season, would call it a night so that they can rest up for their next game or lose their cool as the deficit grew.

Even though the Nets were frustrated early on by the physical nature of the Raptors combined with the lack of foul calls, Brooklyn did not lose their cool for the game. They kept their composure and did what they needed to do to win this game and sweep the Raptors.

Simmons spoke postgame on what it took for the Nets to make their comeback and eventually win the game:

“Just knowing there’s gonna be numerous things that affect the game. Whether its calls, whether its guys getting in foul trouble, whatever it is, just staying focused and being poised throughout that whole game. There was a couple times where Kevin (Durant) was getting frustrated, we just let him know he’s good, and just keep playing.”

The Nets’ next game is Sunday at the Detroit Pistons.
