Rutgers basketball has landed another piece to their 2023 recruiting with the commitment of Jamichael Davis. The Georgia point guard gave Rutgers a verbal on Monday night.

He chose Rutgers over offers from Auburn, VCU and Wichita State among others.

A 6-foot-2 point guard out of McEarchern (Powder Springs, GA), Davis showed well last season as a junior. In 20 games played, he averaged 22 points, 13.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Defensively, he is the prototype for a Rutgers team coached by Steve Pikiell. Last season Davis averaged an impressive 2.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

Davis made his commitment known via social media on Monday night:

He is a bit under the radar, being unranked by both Rivals and 247Sports.

Earlier this month, Rutgers basketball had Gavin Griffiths sign his Letter of Intent to join the program. A four-star recruit, Griffiths is ranked the No. 35 player in the nation according to 247Sports.

Griffiths is the highest-ranked recruit to commit to the program under Pikiell.
