Texas A&M defeats Oregon State 72-54

Head coach Buzz Williams must have given one heck of a halftime speech during Texas A&M’s home battle vs. Oregon State on Sunday afternoon, because after trailing 30-26 at the half, the Aggies outscored the Beavers 46-24 to earn their much-needed 72-54 victory to improve to 6-3 on the season, 4-0 at home, and earned their 20th straight home non-conference win.

Texas A&M’s biggest run after the half reached 19-5 on the tail end of Radfords’ consecutive 3-pointers paired with Marble’s 3-point play near the basket, as the Aggie’s largest lead of the game reached 62-42 at the 8-minute mark. On the night, both teams split the turnover margin with 12 each.

Want a surprising stat to start off the recap? The Aggies’ leading scorers on the game, Tyrece Radford with 12 points and Dexter Dennis with 16, well, all 28 of their combined points came in the second half, while Radford went 3-3 from beyond the arc, while Dennis drained four 3-pointers of his own during the second half run.

Manny Obaseki provided a much-needed spark off the bench, providing 11 points off of 5-8 from the field, paired with freshman forward Soloman Washington’s 7-point, 5-rebound performance. Michigan State transfer Julius Marble provided stability in the low post, notching 11 points and 7 rebounds, while the steady hand of Henry Coleman III took an off night with only 2 points off the bench.

The Aggies will be back on the road to face the 8-2 Memphis Tigers on Saturday night at 6:00 PM CT., which will be aired on ESPN U.
