Hauser Helps Lead Michigan State Past Brown, 68-50


EAST LANSING, Mich. – Graduate forward Joey Hauser scored 22 points to lead three players in double figures as Michigan State beat Brown, 66-43, on Saturday afternoon at the Breslin Center.

Hauser, who passed the 1,000-point mark for his career, hit 9-of-13 shots while adding five rebounds and four assists to lead the Spartans. Junior guard A.J. Hoggard scored 17 points, grabbed four rebounds and had four assists, while senior guard Tyson Walker added 10 points and sophomore guard Jaden Akins finished with nine points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Freshman guard Tre Holloman led the team with six assists.

Brown’s Paxson Wojcik, the son of Michigan State assistant coach Doug Wojcik, scored 10 points, grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds and had four assists.

Records

Michigan State improves to 7-4 overall, while Brown falls to 6-5.

 

Up Next

After opening the season up with 11 games in 33 days, the Spartans will be off until Monday, Dec. 21, hosting Oakland at the Breslin Center.
