#18/15 Cardinals Drop Road Contest to Middle Tennessee, 67-49

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The No. 18/15 Louisville women’s basketball team dropped its second game in a row to Middle Tennessee, 67-49, Sunday evening at the Murphy Center. The Cardinals (5-4) held a three-point lead after the first quarter but shooting woes plagued them the rest of the game as they fell to the Blue Raiders (5-2).

Olivia Cochran led the way for the Cardinals with a team-high 14 points and added seven rebounds. Hailey Van Lith tallied her second-straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. It is Van Lith’s third double-double of the season and the fourth of her career. Chrislyn Carr was the third Cardinal in double figures with 10 points, the fourth time in her last four games she has scored 10 points or more.

Savannah Wheeler led the way for the Blue Raiders with a game-high 23 points. Courtney Whitson was also in double figures for Middle Tennessee with 16 points.

The first quarter was close as both teams were getting into the rhythm of the game. The Cardinals went on a 9-0 run towards the end of the quarter and got the lead up to five.
