Sunday’s Game Dedicated To Brittney Griner

Fans Will Be Able To Write Letters Of Support

BERKELEY – Both games during the Raising The B.A.R. Invitational on Sunday will be dedicated to supporting the release of Brittney Griner from imprisonment in Russia.

Inside the arena, there will be a writing station set up for fans to be able to write letters of support that will be sent to Brittney’s team. They have established a goal of getting 10,000 handwritten letters of support for Brittney’s release.

All players from the four teams participating in the invitational Sunday will also be wearing #WeAreBG shirts in her honor along with the coaching staffs.

To further support the campaign to get Brittney released, former Cal women’s basketball player and WNBA veteran Layshia Clarendon will be donating $1,000 to the Brittney Griner fund which Cal women’s head coach Charmin Smith will match.
