#18/15 Cardinals Travel for Road Clash with Middle Tennessee

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The #18/15 Louisville women’s basketball team is on the road for its second true road game of the season this weekend. The Cardinals head back to the state of Tennessee to take on Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro. The Cardinals and Blue Raiders will square off on Sunday, Dec. 4 with tip off set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+.

Sunday’s game against the Blue Raiders begins a month where the Cardinals will be away from home for a majority of the time. Louisville plays just two home games in the month of December and five of the next six games will be on the road for the Cards.

Louisville has been one of the best teams in the country in road games over the past six seasons. Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, Louisville is 53-7 in road games, good for a .883 winning percentage. The winning percentage ranks second and the wins are third in the NCAA over that span. So far this season, Louisville is 1-0 in road games after the 75-70 win over Belmont on Nov. 13.

The Cardinals are coming off a loss last time out and under head coach Jeff Walz‘s tenure, they have been able to bounce back quickly. Not counting the final game of the season, Louisville is 78-22 all-time after a loss in Walz’s 16 seasons as head coach. The Cardinals have won 10 games in a row following a loss and have come out victorious in 17 of their last 18 games after a defeat. So far this season, Louisville is 2-0 after a loss.

Last time out, Hailey Van Lith recorded her second double-double of the season after she led the team with 20 points and 10 rebounds against No. 4/5 Ohio State. She is tied with Olivia Cochran with two double-doubles so far this season. It was her fourth 20-point game of the year and dating back to last season, she has scored 20 points or more in 10 of her last 16 games. This season, she leads the Cards with 21.0 points per game, a mark that ranks second in the ACC and 14th nationally.
