Hubert Davis provides injury updates on Bacot, Black

UNC basketball survives scare against Portland, remains unbeaten

UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis provided a few injury updates on Tuesday ahead of the Tar Heels’ matchup with Indiana this week.

A few players were dinged up during the Phil Knight Invitational third place game to Alabama on Sunday, including Armando Bacot and Leaky Black.

Both players suffered ankle injuries, both injuries that they have dealt with in the past.

Bacot had previously stated that he felt ‘sharp pains’ in his ankle during the 4OT loss to Alabama.

Davis said on Tuesday that everyone practiced today and that both Bacot and Black are expected to play on Wednesday.

Bacot is averaging 16.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game this season while Black is averaging 8.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Bacot will be matched up against fellow preseason All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis in the front court. Jackson-Davis is also a bit banged up, dealing with a back injury and thumb injury.
