Lafayette @ Penn State
Current Records: Lafayette 1-5; Penn State 5-1
What to Know
The Penn State Nittany Lions will take on the Lafayette Leopards at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Bryce Jordan Center. Penn State is out to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
The Nittany Lions strolled past the Colorado State Rams with points to spare on Sunday, taking the contest 68-56. Penn State can attribute much of their success to guard Jalen Pickett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, and guard Seth Lundy, who had 17 points along with eight rebounds.
As for Lafayette, it looks like they got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 74-68 to the Pennsylvania Quakers.
Penn State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 20.5-point margin of victory. Bettors make note: they are flawless against the spread this season.
Penn State is now 5-1 while the Leopards sit at a mirror-image 1-5. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Nittany Lions are worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only ten on average. Lafayette has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the matchup with the 29th fewest takeaways in college basketball, having accrued only 11.2 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
