Q&A with Georgia Woolley – Syracuse University Athletics


As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Long Island for International Students Night in the JMA Wireless Dome on Thursday, Nov. 17 (7 p.m., ACCNX), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with sophomore Georgia Woolley

How old were you when you started playing basketball and who inspired you to play/why did you decide to play?

GW: I was five years old, and my mom inspired me to play because she played when she was younger also.

 

What are you looking forward to most this season?

GW: I am looking forward to playing with a new team, on a new stage, and competing. And I’m looking forward to winning!

 

What is your favorite movie?

GW: Love & Basketball

 

If you were gifted an all expenses paid vacation for two people, where are you going and who are you bringing with you?

GW: I am going on a trip around Europe with my best friend Casey Valenti-Paea.

 

What was the biggest factor in decided on Syracuse when you entered the transfer portal?

GW: The biggest factor for me was Coach Jack. I wanted to keep playing for her for my entire college career.

 

What is one word you would use to describe Coach Jack?

GW: Passionate

 

What is one work you would use to describe yourself, and would your teammates agree?

GW: Competitive and yes, defiitely.

 

What is your favorite place to eat in Syracuse?

GW: Margarita’s in Downtown Syracuse

If you weren’t playing basketball, what sport would you play?

GW: I don’t want to play any other sport, what a ridiculous question! But if I had to, maybe, volleyball, netball or AFL (Australian Football League).

 

What’s your favorite vacation memory as a child?

GW: I traveled around Australia for six months in a caravan with my family.
